Unveiling our latest Robody

Over the last month, we have secretly tested it in three homes, now it is finally time to show it to the world: Our newest generation of Robody – the first one, specifically designed for caring at home.

Whenever we show our Robody, the question is “What can it do?”. And our new one can do a lot! Our operators have helped with daily tasks like preparing meals, administering pills, locating and fetching hard-to-find items around the house, and — most importantly — having hours of meaningful conversation with our test users.

And all of that in their private homes! No staged, perfectly lit test environments with perfectly placed items on and height adjustable tables that are set to just the right height for the task. Actual, unmodified, private homes. We have conquered carpets, narrow hallways full of photos, round buttons that are almost impossible to grasp and many, many unexpected things. And we can confidently say, if you have seen one home, you have seen but one.

We are today where most humanoid robot companies won’t be for years, because we embrace the operator as an essential element and not just a temporary nuisance of it all.

So what is new?

▶︎ More precise, more dexterous, more capable

In just six months, we completely redesigned Robody’s torso and arms. Upgraded hardware and control systems now allow operators to perform fine, two-handed tasks in real-world home environments. From fetching cheese from the fridge, getting a shirt from the closet, and dusting surfaces to playing board games like Rummy and Mühle (Nine Men’s Morris), Robody’s new capabilities are designed for life at home.

▶︎ A Robody that fits right in

Now, you can customise Robody’s look to match your style, and it has been a huge hit. Every person we lived with had a different idea of how Robody should look! But the real magic is what is underneath. The new generation comes with a soft, flexible skin that allows it to safely move and interact in any home.

▶︎ Next-level immersive VR control

Robody operators now see the world in twice the resolution, feel their surroundings with haptic feedback, and experience a host of user-friendly features that make controlling Robody smoother and more intuitive than ever.

This is a step change to bring humanoids into homes. We have never been that proud of our amazing team!
